Rose Law Firm regrets to announce the passing of its former member, W. Dane Clay, on November 24, 2015. Dane received an LL.B. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1951, where he also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Arkansas Law Review and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and Omicron Delta Kappa. That same year Dane began his career at Rose Law Firm and remained with the firm until retirement, practicing primarily in the areas of taxation, estate planning, and corporate law while also serving as the firm’s treasurer.
In his personal life, Dane was a devoted fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. In addition to attending most home games, he supported the team by managing the firm’s donations to the Razorback Foundation for decades. He was also an avid bridge player and a Diamond Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. Dane played an instrumental role in establishing the Bridge House for the Little Rock Duplicate Bridge Club.
Among his numerous accolades and professional recognitions, he also attained the rank of Captain while serving in the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General Corps from 1951-54. He was an asset to the Arkansas legal community and will be greatly missed by his friends at Rose Law Firm.
