Craig is a tax and transactional attorney representing various families and privately-held businesses. Additionally, he handles the defense of tax controversy matters including state and federal tax and trusts and estate litigation.

Experience

Among his recent controversy experiences are the following:

*   Tax Court defense of S Corporation Basis and Passive Activity determination

*   Court of Federal Claims case involving tax refunds and equitable recoupment

*   Successfully appealed a breach of trust determination to the Arkansas Supreme Court

*   Represented a company in a tax court case involving inventory methods

*   Represented an estate in tax court litigation related to substantiating non-active participation of a decedent in a business.  The matter was satisfactorily resolved

*   Multiple expert witness appearances including trustee breach of duty claims

*   Multi-state litigation involving an estate related to breach of fiduciary duty and undue influence

*   Represented an executive in tax court litigation related to passive/active participation in various investments.  Immediately prior to trial, the case was substantially conceded by the IRS

*   Multi-jurisdictional case involving trust interpretation and trustee duty issues
