Attorneys, Summer Associates & Administrative Staff

Overview

We at Rose Law Firm are proud of the firm's 180-year heritage. It is this pride and commitment to excellence which makes Rose Law Firm a uniquely rewarding place to practice law. Rose Law Firm associates are among the most talented and motivated of their law school class. Many held editorial positions on their law school's law review. Others joined the firm after judicial clerkships.

What is a typical Rose Law Firm attorney? The typical characteristics of a Rose Law Firm attorney are dedication to the client, commitment to excellence and a constant striving to reach the highest ethical standards. Our lawyers are otherwise a diverse group, with varying political viewpoints and personal backgrounds.

What is it like to practice law at Rose Law Firm? Collegiality and mutual respect among the attorneys and staff at Rose Law Firm are hallmarks of the firm's culture. While our practice is often fast paced and always intellectually challenging, time for family and life outside the office are important attributes of the firm's practice.

Summer Associate Program

Rose Law Firm's summer associate program offers first and second year law students an opportunity to experience the practice of law in challenging and enjoyable six or twelve week sessions. Our summer associates rotate through both the business and litigation sections and work with attorneys in all of the firm's practice areas. Summer associates do more than research. They are exposed to all facets of the firm's practice, from client conferences and transaction closings to depositions and trials. Each summer associate is assigned an attorney mentor who serves as a guide and ombudsman during the summer associate's stay at the firm. Social events allow the summer associate and attorneys to get to know one another outside the office environment. Rose Law Firm's summer associate program is designed to give the student a taste of the practice of law and, more importantly, to forge lasting friendships and associations.

Associate Development

It is the expectation and goal of Rose Law Firm that every associate hired will mature professionally to full partnership in the firm. To that end, the firm designed and implemented an Associate Development Program. Each associate is assigned a partner as mentor. The mentor monitors the associate's practice and professional development. The associate receives periodic written critiques focusing on the associate's strong points and areas for improvement. Concrete plans to remedy problems and achieve professional development are jointly agreed on by the mentor and associate and implemented. Associate isolation, stagnation and the "sink or swim" mentality are not tolerated as just "part of the practice" at Rose Law Firm.
