Many practice areas at Rose Law Firm involve state and local government law. Our lawyers have experience appearing before governing bodies, boards, commissions, and executive officers at all levels of State and local government. We represent private clients, as well as state and local governmental entities. Currently, we are engaged by the State Treasurer to advise on matters relating to State Treasury Management Law. Our lawyers are experienced with the Arkansas Freedom of Information Act. At different times, we have been called upon to represent either those requesting public records or the custodians thereof. We also regularly advise our public clients regarding open meeting requirements of that Act.
From time to time we are called upon to advise state and local governmental clients on provisions of the Arkansas Constitution such as limitations on public assistance to private entities and sovereign immunity. Our lawyers have experience in advising clients on state procurement laws and the negotiation of public contracts.
Additionally, we are actively involved with land use applications, rezoning, brownfields, site planning, site combinations, planned developments, utility and railroad service and encroachments. Depending on the state and scope, such projects may involve state, county and municipal incentives such as tax credits or rebates.
