Bio

Adam Hopkins works with companies and business owners in intellectual property (IP) procurement and litigation, particularly in federal courts. He helps clients register, license and enforce trademarks, copyrights and other IP rights, and he defends clients in IP lawsuits.

Adam regularly manages large E-Discovery projects involving millions of electronic documents, structured and unstructured data collection and management, complex search term negotiation, and state-of-the-art technology aided review.

His litigation practice involves a range of business disputes as well as defense against federal antitrust claims. His clients include universities, multinational companies and small- and medium-sized businesses inside and outside of Arkansas.

Experience

  • Obtained judgment in excess of $3 million, including trebled damages, against Kansas farming business for violation of Oklahoma-based genetics company’s federal intellectual property rights
  • Secured 12(b)(6) dismissal of antitrust claims in dispute between two oncology practices
  • Obtained $2.9 million judgment on behalf of a South Dakota university against Iowa seed business as part of a larger intellectual property enforcement action against a network of numerous seed distributors and retailers
  • Successfully defended toy company against claims of copyright, trademark and trade dress infringement
  • Obtained a multi-million dollar jury verdict against a global retailer for misappropriation of trade secrets relating to website technology
  • Represented Walmart vendors in federal litigation against foreign manufacturers
  • Manage large E-Discovery projects in federal cases involving millions of records
  • Represent various intellectual property owners in enforcement of trademark, copyright, trade secret and patent rights
  • Defend parties accused of intellectual property infringement
  • Litigate Plant Variety Protection Act cases across the country, including cases involve dozens of defendants
