Nancy Smith

Bio

Nancy Smith is a member in the Northwest Arkansas office, where her practice focuses on complex civil litigation. Nancy has broad experience advising clients on high-stakes litigation and contract matters across industries, including the small-business, antitrust, and privacy sectors. She litigates in both federal and state court, including multi-district and class action proceedings, and has experience at all stages of litigation. Her work includes pre-litigation counseling, writing dispositive motions and briefs, preparing witnesses for deposition and trial, managing large-scale discovery, handling settlement negotiation, preparing for trial and mediation, and representing clients on appeal.

Prior to joining the firm, Nancy attended the University of Arkansas and the University of Arkansas School of Law. Nancy graduated from the University of Arkansas School of Law with the highest honors, served as the Managing Editor of the Arkansas Law Review, and completed externships with the Arkansas Supreme Court and the Tyson Foods Legal Department. In addition to her practice, Nancy is actively involved in the Northwest Arkansas community. She is a recent graduate of Leadership Benton County, serves on the Kappa Kappa Gamma House Board of Directors, and is a member of the W.B. Putman American Inn of Court.

  • Managing complex electronic discovery, including experience with Technology Assisted Review (TAR)
  • Defending clients against governmental investigations and actions at the state and federal level
  • Representing clients in antitrust litigation as well as class action litigation
  • Obtaining guardianships over incapacitated persons
  • Revising employee handbooks to comply with state and federal laws
  • Representing and advising clients with respect to the Arkansas Patient Right to Know Act
  • Forming nonprofit organizations
