Abigail Riddle

Abigail (Abby) is an associate in the firm’s business section, where her practice includes real estate, business, and other transactional matters. Prior to joining Rose Law Firm, Abby received her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in May 2025, and she graduated summa cum laude, ranked second in her class. While earning her J.D., Abby served as the Executive Editor of the Arkansas Law Review, a research and teaching assistant, and a brief writer for the National Appellate Advocacy Competition moot court program. Abby also received the highest score in the state on the Arkansas Bar Exam in July 2025.

Dan C. Young

Dan heads the firm’s Business Section and is a Fellow and Arkansas State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  Dan focuses his practice on high net worth individuals and families with respect to complex tax, estate planning and trust and estate administration matters. Dan also regularly represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries involved in trust or estate litigation and other disputes. He has a deep understanding of those who have closely held and/or family businesses. Dan has advised business owners on the transfer ownership to family members and third parties.

He often counsels clients on how to minimize federal gift, estate and generation skipping transfer taxes in order to ensure assets are protected and available for future generations in the most efficient way possible. In addition, both fiduciaries and beneficiaries appreciate Dan’s ability to help them understand their duties, rights and responsibilities.

Dan is often called to speak on estate and trust matters throughout the U.S. on a variety of topics ranging from recent tax and estate law developments, issues involving trust situs and governing law, the Directed Trust Act, trustee releases and attorney fees and estate planning with retirement plan accounts.

Dan is ranked as a Band 1 Private Wealth Lawyer by Chambers and Partners “(Chambers”)  Chambers reports his clients saying, “Simply put, he is the benchmark for how I judge other attorneys,” comments one source, adding that “in addition to being an expert in his chosen field, he is very courteous and responsive.” Another source says, “He goes above and beyond to be responsive and to anticipate issues and related solutions. Dan is extremely knowledgeable in matters of estate and trust law, and works to creatively solve client problems.”

Mary-Tipton Thalheimer

With nearly a decade of experience, Mary-Tipton Thalheimer focuses on bankruptcy and all areas of debtor and creditor rights, including workout agreements and civil litigation involving foreclosures, replevins, and garnishments. Prior to beginning her practice, she obtained her LL.M in bankruptcy from St. John’s University and worked as a staff attorney for the Honorable Richard D. Taylor of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas.

Helen Hope

Helen Hope is an associate in the firm’s litigation section who focuses her practice on general civil litigation. She graduated cum laude from the University of Arkansas School of Law, where she served as the Law Notes Editor for the Arkansas Law Review, worked as a teaching assistant for Civil Procedure, and externed for the Honorable Timothy L. Brooks in the Western District of Arkansas.

Prior to her legal career, Helen managed programming in public spaces for a local nonprofit in Memphis, and later led communications for a national nonprofit working at the intersection of housing, transportation, economic development, and land use in Washington, D.C.”

Carolyn B. Witherspoon

Carolyn primarily represents public and private employers in defending employment related matters, including Title VII litigation. She does extensive training in the employment area for employers. Carolyn is a frequent contributor to legal publications on topics involving employment and personnel issues. She earned her B.A. degree from UALR and her J.D. degree, with honors, from the UALR School of Law. She is a former President of the Arkansas Bar Association and former Chair of the Labor and Employment Law Section. Carolyn is a long-time member of the American Bar Association, where she served as former Chair of the Commission on Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts and is a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section.  She is a former member of the House of Delegates of the American Bar Association, a past Chair of the Arkansas Fellows of the American Bar Foundation, Union Internationale des Avocats, Women in Sports Law, American Employment Law Counsel, and is a fellow of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. Carolyn is an arbitrator of The Court of Arbitration for Sport and a member of the American Arbitration Association Roster of Employment Arbitrators and Mediators. Carolyn was inducted into the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame in 2019.

Brett W. Taylor

Brett is a seasoned litigator with experience practicing before the federal and state courts of Arkansas and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals. Brett’s broad experience includes defending employers against civil rights claims, professional liability and medical malpractice actions, and a range of other commercial disputes. 

Brett completed his undergraduate coursework in History at Arkansas State University in 2005. Brett pursued his law degree at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law, where he graduated cum laude.

David Biscoe Bingham

David Biscoe Bingham understands the importance of prioritizing a client's goals and objectives in estate and tax planning. He is a trusted legal advisor and recognizes that each client's situation is personal, requiring special attention and thoughtfulness. David represents individuals, couples, and families in estate planning, ensuring that his clients' assets are transmitted in the most tax-efficient manner. When representing clients in business entity formations, David advises entrepreneurs and ownership groups on selecting the correct entity to minimize taxation and facilitate the transfer of the business's value to the owners or their heirs. He also assists non-profit entities with formation, operations, and qualifying and maintaining tax-exempt status.

B.J. Walker

B.J.’s practice focuses on complex business and regulatory litigation at the pretrial, trial and appellate levels. He regularly handles matters of complex civil litigation, class action defense, and intellectual property litigation. He also advises clients on workplace health and safety, regulatory compliance and catastrophe response.

Catherine Stephens

Catherine Stephens is an associate in the firm’s litigation section.  She joined the firm in 2025 after serving as a law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas.  Catherine graduated magna cum laude from Baylor University School of Law. While earning her J.D., Catherine was a research assistant, Senior Executive Editor for Baylor Law Review, and president of the Texas Aggie Bar Association at Baylor Law.

Madeline Taylor

Madeline Taylor focuses her practice on business-oriented legal solutions, with a particular emphasis on real estate, finance, and corporate matters. Prior to returning to private practice, Madeline served as General Counsel and Vice President of Operations for a real estate development and operations company in Northwest Arkansas, where she gained extensive, hands-on experience across the full spectrum of the real estate lifecycle — including acquisition, development, construction, commercial leasing, and financing.

Madeline brings a practical, operational mindset to her legal work, helping clients navigate complex transactions with clarity and efficiency. She regularly advises clients on real estate financing transactions — including both conventional and structured finance — and has experience representing developers, lenders, and investors in connection with commercial leasing, property development, and joint ventures. Her practice also includes advising clients on entity formation, corporate governance, and the structuring of partnerships and development deals, including New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) transactions.

Madeline frequently serves as outside general counsel to businesses and real estate-focused organizations, helping them align legal strategy with long-term business goals.

Luke E. Vance

Luke serves as an associate for the firm’s litigation practice group. He focuses his practice on commercial litigation. His experience includes representing public and private companies in a variety of matters involving breach of contract disputes, business torts, construction defects, unfair business or trade practice claims and products liability.

Prior to law school, Luke worked for an agricultural and logistics company as a commodity trader of agricultural products both domestically and internationally. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, his dogs and horses and traveling.

Nicole M. Soulsby

Nicole focuses her practice primarily on state, local, individual and corporate taxation as well as various tax backed and revenue bond issues. In regards to her tax practice, she advises clients on an array of complex federal and state tax issues, such as those regarding income, gift, sales and estate tax.

Additionally, Nicole is involved in matters when the Rose Law Firm is engaged as bond counsel and has worked with the Arkansas Development Finance Authority and various municipalities, public facilities boards, improvement districts, educational institutions, and other public instrumentalities.

Nicole also has experience working on estate planning and general corporate matters, such as financing transactions, corporate structure and governance, reorganizations and the drafting of various types of commercial contracts.
